Case Analysis of Point-to-Point Linear Motor Module Selection Publication Time: 2025-10-12 19:47:16       Author: 小编       View Count:

Case study of linear motor selection: Analysis of linear motor selection for point-to-point material handling and linear operation, assuming a triangular pattern and short stroke as an example for trajectory analysis:

A certain material handling and die-cutting workshop needs to be matched with a linear motor module, which requires fast acceleration, high thrust, and minimal maintenance

Linear motor operating environment: constant temperature environment;

                 Effective travel distance: 1000mm;

                  Run time: 0.6 seconds

                 Accuracy requirement: 0.006mm

                 Object mass: 15KG;

                 Waiting time: 0.4 seconds

Request the maximum thrust and sustained thrust for the selection of linear motors, in order to facilitate our selection of linear motor modules:

Calculate the acceleration based on the formula of triangle trajectory: 4 * 1/0.6 * 0.6=11.11m/s ^ 2;

Peak thrust: 15 * 11.11=166.7N (theoretical value, slightly larger in practice, assuming 15KG includes the mass of the rotor, friction of the guide rail, friction of the slider drag chain, etc.);

Continuous thrust calculation: 129.1N

Based on the similarity between the peak thrust and sustained thrust mentioned above, is the triangular module selection mode correct? If the peak thrust and sustained thrust are around 3:1, then the model we have run above needs to be revised. Next time, we will calculate whether the calculation of sustained thrust and peak thrust of the linear motor in trapezoidal mode is reasonable.
